Oak Sling Braced Extension Frame in Farnham
Location
Situated in the rural hamlet of Dippenhall, Farnham, Surrey
The property
The property is a new build home surrounded by fields with far stretching views over Farnham town. Built to a very high standard by JRB Building Ltd we were subcontracted to fabricate and install this oak frame.
The process
1 -
Design drawings by Foundations Architects were provided and a preliminary fee for our works was offered and accepted.
2 -
On this occasion, John Wilson from Foundations Architects visited the workshop to discuss the incorporation of decorative chamfer details and peg locations to complement the historic oak frames within the village.
3 -
A timber list was provided and approved, the oak was then sourced and delivered to our workshop and the build commenced.
4 -
The oak frame was fabricated using traditional jointing techniques and the curved sling braces were shaped with our specialist machinery.
5 -
Upon completion, the frame was disassembled and transported to site.
6 -
The frame was erected within a day with the help of a crane.
